Jay Savage is Fiber Optics Product Manager at Pillar Innovations with 20 years of experience across Beitzel Corporation and Pillar Innovations. He began his career in 2006 in field operations before transitioning into fiber optics during Pillar’s formation, building his expertise from hands-on installation through advanced system design and deployment.
Today, Jay oversees Pillar Innovations’ fiber optics business unit, where he is responsible for product strategy, service development, operational performance, and long-term growth.
His responsibilities include profitability management, quality assurance, customer engagement, workforce training, and 24-hour product and system support. He works closely with customers and internal teams to ensure solutions are not only innovative, but reliable, scalable, and deployable in real-world conditions. His work spans mining, utilities, pipelines, and telecommunications, including underground atmospheric monitoring, miner tracking networks, electric utility fiber deployments, and DAS/DTS-based pipeline monitoring and leak detection programs.
Committed to continuous technical education, Jay maintains ongoing manufacturer and industry training while also developing customer-focused training solutions. He is the primary instructor and course developer for Pillar Innovations’ Fiber Optics Care and Troubleshooting program, designed to empower operators to maintain, diagnose, and optimize their own fiber optic systems.
