Fiber Optic Leak Detection and Pipeline Monitoring with DAS

Pillar Innovations has been at the forefront of engineering proven and novel approaches for pipeline monitoring. First with strain gauges and traditional metered technologies, then in 2021-2022, Pillar implemented a Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing solution to meet local and state regulatory agencies requirements for certain state properties, gamelands and preserves. Since then, Pillar has installed, commissioned and supported approximately 27 miles of waters lines. This is still growing as more assets are being installed. The customer has since executed a policy that all new lines utilize Distributed Acoustic Sensing for leak detection.
