Cordell Briggs is the Vice President of Cybersecurity and Advocacy at the Utilities Technology Council, where he leads initiatives focused on cybersecurity, supply chain risk, operational technology (OT), telecommunications, and critical infrastructure resilience for the utility sector. With more than fifteen years of experience supporting the North American electric sector, Cordell is recognized for developing collaborative programs that strengthen cybersecurity coordination among utilities, suppliers, industry partners, and government agencies.
Cordell is the creator and driving force behind UTC ARMOR™, the utility-focused cybersecurity initiative that evolved into KALEN™, UTC’s trusted cybersecurity validation solution. KALEN™ helps utilities and suppliers navigate cybersecurity across OT, telecom, and cloud environments through trusted third-party certifications and the GRID Framework. Under his leadership, UTC has established strategic partnerships with the International Society of Automation and the Cloud Security Alliance to advance cybersecurity validation and operational trust across the energy sector.
Prior to joining UTC, Cordell served as Senior Coordinator of the E-ISAC Intelligence Group and as the Electricity Liaison to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, supporting collaboration and information sharing between industry and government partners on national security and critical infrastructure protection.
In addition to leading KALEN, Cordell actively engages with congressional offices, federal agencies, utilities, and industry leaders to advocate policies and initiatives focused on supply chain security, cloud adoption in operational environments, and critical infrastructure protection.
