Dane Langen is the Global Segment Lead for Security and Safety for Luna Innovation’s Sensing Business Unit. He is responsible for security and safety solutions regarding market insight, regulatory impact, recommended practices, product development including innovation. He has consulted for the critical infrastructure market, specifically the energy and mission critical sectors for all aspects of Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing. He began his career with Luna with OptaSense in 2018. Dane has a background in defense, energy, telecommunications, acoustics, music, training and education. He currently is the chair for the Utilities Security Community with the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and the co-chair for the Fiber Optic Sensing Association’s Outreach Committee (FOSA). In addition, he serves in groups that support the critical infrastructure, national security segments and advocates for overall health and work life balance. He lives with his three sons on the Texas Gulf Coast and is an avid outdoorsman and musician.
