David Walter

Vice President Operations Support Services
WEC Energy Group

Dave Walter serves as the WEC Vice President of Operation Support Services supporting WE/WPS/NSG/PGL/MERC/UMERC in Wisconsin/Michigan/Illinois/Minnesota.

His responsibilities include: Vegetation Management, Safety & Health, Training & Development, Real Estate, Fleet, Supply Chain, Business Strategy & Transformation, Compliance and System Integrity. He assumed his current role in April 2025.

Prior to joining WEC, Dave worked at NiSource/NIPSCO. Dave served as the Vice President of Power Delivery, which included: system control, transmission & distribution field operations, substation, metering, vegetation management, substation construction and line construction. Prior to that role Dave served as the Vice President of Power Generation for the NIPSCO generation fleet.

Prior to joining NIPSCO, Dave served in a number of generation management roles at Consumers Energy in Michigan. Prior to joining Consumers Energy, Dave worked at General Motors in various engineering and maintenance manager positions.

Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Saginaw Valley State University. He is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Dave is based at WEC Headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
