Colby Cohron is the Telecommunications Engineering Supervisor at PowerSouth Energy Cooperative in Andalusia, Alabama. With a decade of experience in utility telecommunications, Colby began as a telecom engineer before moving into his current leadership role. He works with technologies such as licensed 6 GHz microwave, unlicensed 5.8 GHz microwave, licensed 700 MHz (A block), licensed 220 MHz, and fiber infrastructure including OPGW and ADSS. He has played a key role in modernizing PowerSouth’s telecommunications network and infrastructure, including the upgrade from a single-layer Juniper network to a Nokia MPLS platform. Colby holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of West Florida.
