Case Study: Managing the Design & Construction of 200 Macro Site Upgrades

Case Study: What happens when all three major carriers ( AT&T, Verizon Wireless & T-Mobile ) want to upgrade all of their transmission tower macro sites at the same time ? This presentation will explain how we managed our resources in order to be able to meet the wireless carriers timelines relative to the following tasks:



*site walks

*review of all engineering documents

*contract preparations/construction cost estimates

*bid walks

*pre-construction meetings

*tower construction

*as-built survey



We held weekly in house construction status meetings and status meetings with the carriers as needed. With other utilities in the region experiencing the same transmission tower site upgrades, tower construction crew availability was at a premium.



Being well organized and having open communications with the carriers allowed us to be successful on these upgrades.
